Tepper warns that tariff wars have historically led to real wars, making him nervous about the current path.
“And if you look at the history of of terrorists, they've resulted in, a lot of times, real wars. So I get a little nervous when you start down that path.”
Tepper says he doesn't love tariffs but 10% tariffs don't make a meaningful difference to the economy.
“I don't love tariffs. On the other hand, I don't think 10% tariffs, at least at that level, make a difference.”
Tepper calls 25% or 50% tariffs destructive, drawing a line above 10% levels.
“I don't love the the 25% or the 50% tariffs. I think they're a little bit destructive.”
Tepper finds 25% or 50% tariffs destructive but understands 5-10% tariffs as acceptable policy.
