Dearlove says scientific paper on virus origins is important contribution to debate on pandemic emergence.
“I think it is a very important contribution to a debate which is now starting about how the virus evolved and how it got out and broke out as a pandemic.”
Dearlove believes the pandemic started as an accident and China has not published true casualty figures.
“Absolutely. China itself has suffered hugely and probably more than we realize because they will have not published the true figures. I do think that this started as an accident.”
Dearlove endorses a peer-reviewed scientific paper on virus origins as a very important contribution to the debate.
“I think that the importance of the paper is that it is written by two very knowledgeable scientists, one a world leading virologist. Well, both of them are actually. It's been peer reviewed extensively.”
