Baker says only three US locations can provide gigawatt nuclear power, charging 10x average electricity rates.
“There's only basically three places in The United States today where you can get a gigawatt of power to a single data center that's reliable enough, I. E. That's nuclear.”
Baker explains GPUs got 50x faster while data center infrastructure only got 4-5x faster, causing low utilization.
“GPUs have gotten 50 times faster, and the rest of the data center has only gotten four to five times faster. And that is why MFU is so low.”
Baker predicts data centers in space will be the most important development in three to four years.
“I think the most important thing that's going to happen in the world, in this world, in the next three to four years is data centers in space.”
Baker explains space offers six times more solar irradiance than Earth due to constant sunlight and intensity.
“You can have the satellite always kind of catching light. The sun is 30% more intense and this results in six times more irradiance”
Baker predicts within seven years we may stop building terrestrial data centers, causing pain for infrastructure companies beforehand.
“But I can't imagine a day when in the next seven years, when we never build another terrestrial data center. Mhmm.”
Private jet engine demand is being driven by data center operators repurposing them as power turbines.
“Residuals for private jets are extremely strong these days. And a big part of the reason is people are taking jet engines off old planes and repurposing them as turbines to power data centers. ”
Private jet resale values are elevated because buyers are harvesting engines from old aircraft to use as turbines for data center power generation.

American companies will work to deploy these turbines domestically.
“The Billy Bob Thorntons here in America are gonna work with those companies and get these turbines on the ground.”
Baker says Dario Amodei's public statements have inadvertently helped efforts to ban data centers in the United States.
