Gerstner says US TikTok is $3-4 billion of ByteDance's $120 billion revenue and loses money.
“It's also been leaked that in that TikTok is about 14,000,000,000 of that and that US TikTok is 3 to 4,000,000,000. US TikTok, 3 to 4,000,000,000 of 120, and it loses money.”
Gerstner details ByteDance financials: $120B revenue, $25B profit similar to Meta, US TikTok only $3-4B.
“So a 120,000,000,000 top line. It's also been leaked that in that TikTok is about 14,000,000,000 of that and that US TikTok is 3 to 4,000,000,000.”
Gerstner says AI has become the leading edge of sovereign battles, making TikTok's status quo path inconceivable.
“So given that, I think it's almost inconceivable for me now to see how TikTok US has a path forward under kind of the status quo.”
Gerstner estimates TikTok US generates $8-10 billion in revenue but operates at a loss.
“I think I've seen other numbers out there that they're doing somewhere between 8 and 10,000,000,000 in TikTok US revenue and that they're losing money on TikTok US.”
