Gurley says America's litigious culture where contingency lawyers take 30-50% of recovery will delay autonomous vehicles domestically.

Gurley says Tesla replaced coded self-driving with neural network using driver videos as input and controls as output.
“What we learned this week is that they've completely tossed all of that out and gone with a neural network model where they're uploading videos from their best drivers.”
Gurley notes Chinese solid-state LiDAR costs $130 per car versus Waymo's $5,000, a result of competitive optionality.
“And it's actually in China right now is, I think being priced at like $130 a car, this solid state MEMS LiDAR, whereas the Waymo LiDAR is like $5,000 a car.”
