Friedberg describes scientists reversing skin age from over 70 to 31 by eliminating 55% of CML.
“And they put this enzyme onto that skin, and they were able to eliminate 55% of the CML on the skin, basically reverse the skin's age down to the age of a 31 year old.”
Friedberg cites 2023 WashU research demonstrating mitochondria can transfer between cells, previously only theorized.
“And, this paper, Nick, if you could just pull up that image of mitochondria being transferred, these folks identified and demonstrated that mitochondria can actually transfer from one cell to another.”
Friedberg reports Chinese researchers made stem cells produce 854 times normal mitochondria, 5.7 times more efficient.
“In fact, they were able to get those stem cells to make eight fifty four times the number of mitochondria that those cells would normally make.”
Friedberg reports Ohalo successfully changed genetic circuits controlling cell division across multiple plant species last year.
“We were able to change the genetic circuits that control for meiosis and mitosis and make this happen. We did it across multiple plant species.”
